Industrial TIJ cartridges and thermal inkjet engineering.

TIJ printers

Handheld and inline thermal inkjet printers running the same cartridge platform, so consumables are shared across the fleet.

Handheld TIJ Printer · 12.7 mm Print Width

A battery-operated half-inch handheld coder for cartons, pallets and large parts that cannot be brought to a production line.

Type
Handheld
Print width
12.7 mm (half-inch)
Drying time
Hand-speed dependent; the internal encoder wheel matches print timing to the sweep
Resolution
600 dpi, print-mode dependent

Handheld TIJ Printer · 25.4 mm Print Width

A one-inch handheld coder for content that does not fit half an inch: multi-line blocks, QR and Data Matrix codes, and logos applied in a single sweep.

Type
Handheld
Print width
25.4 mm (one-inch)
Drying time
Hand-speed dependent; the internal encoder wheel matches print timing to the sweep
Resolution
600 dpi, print-mode dependent

Inline Industrial TIJ Printer — Photocell Trigger & Multi-Head Stitching

A fixed thermal inkjet station for conveyor production, with photocell triggering, encoder synchronisation and multi-head stitching up to 76.2 mm.

Type
Inline-Production
Print width
12.7 mm per half-inch head; 25.4 mm per one-inch head; 50.8 mm with two one-inch heads; 76.2 mm with four
Drying time
Print-mode and resolution dependent; fast-dry solvent supports short drying budgets at production line speeds
Resolution
600 dpi standard, up to 1200 dpi on higher-resolution configurations

How multi-head stitching works

A single TIJ cartridge prints a fixed band: 12.7 mm or 25.4 mm tall. To print taller content you mount several heads side by side and stitch their output into one image.

Stitching is mechanical alignment plus timing. Each head must be positioned so its nozzle row continues the previous one without a visible seam, and the fire timing has to compensate for the physical offset between heads. Two heads doubled in a vertical stack give 50.8 mm; four give 76.2 mm.

The practical cost is setup and maintenance. Every added head is another alignment to hold, another nozzle plate to keep clean and another point where a dropout shows in the finished code. We recommend specifying the minimum number of heads that covers your content, and leaving speed margin rather than head count.

Send us your substrate — we will send back a printed code

Tell us the material, the line speed and the text you need to print. We will recommend an ink system and put printed samples in the post so you can test them yourself.
